Student produced content

September 2, 2013

In our country the school year started back on 8/20 and we have been working on many of the extraordinary ideas that we have come across in twitter and many blogs about technology in education. One of such ideas is having students create content, not just consume it.

First we started by having the students create their first blog in blogger and use it as a place for students to express themselves and to show their work. More recently they were assigned to create a video in which they explain concepts related to motion and the results ranged from really funny to really informative.

As a teacher these assignments serve not only to assess their knowledge but also to discover how they process the information, what are the connections that they are making between the new learned information and their real world experiences.

If you would like to take a look at what some  7th and 9th graders are producing, please let us know in the comments so we can share their blog urls.
